Meet our All-Star Support Team

Excellence is Our Specialty.

Our Team has over 50,000 hours of combined

experience in Surgical Care.

WHAT IS
A SPECIALIST?

A Board-Certified Veterinary Specialist is a Veterinarian who specializes in a particular field of Veterinary Medicine. While your family Veterinarian handles your pet’s primary health concerns, a Specialist provides many forms of advanced specialized care to assist in maximizing your pet’s health and quality of life.

WHEN DO YOU
CALL A SPECIALIST?

A Specialist works with your Primary Care Veterinarian to provide the best possible care for your pet. The relationship between a Specialist and your Primary Care Veterinarian is very important, which is why Specialists take cases on referral only.

WHY YOUR CHOICE
MATTERS

How do we stand out from other Veterinary Specialists? Our lead Specialists are the teachers of Specialists. We bring decades of experience to the table-- our lead Specialists and partnering colleagues have performed tens of thousands of surgical cases. This allows us to provide the best mentorship, training and Continuing Education in the profession. We use our experience to provide the highest level of clinical care, to hand-pick the best new Specialists in the profession, and to train the future leaders of Specialty Medicine.

TRUSTED LEADERS IN CLINICAL CARE AND EDUCATION
PIONEERS IN MINIMALLY INVASIVE CARE

Bark City was founded by Dr. Brian Beale, who improved the Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy (TPLO) procedure by pioneering the Arthroscopic TPLO. Today this procedure is the most effective and minimally-invasive form of cranial cruciate repair. Dr. Beale co-authored Small Animal Arthroscopy, the textbook that was a foundation for many modern minimally-invasive surgery techniques.

A NETWORK OF LEADERS IN THE VETERINARY PROFESSION

Bark City is a part of Beale's Best, an independent veterinarian-owned group dedicated to driving excellence in Specialty Medicine through hands-on Continuing Education, Clinical Research, and building non-corporate Specialty Hospitals with a culture focused on excellence in Clinical Care.

THE TEACHERS OF SPECIALISTS

Dr. Beale and our Surgery colleagues teach over 75% of the Orthopedic hands-on Continuing Education around the world. As pioneers in the profession with decades of experience, we spend much of our time training other Specialists to reach the same standards of excellence in Clinical Care.

DESIGN LEADERS IN ORTHOPEDIC INSTRUMENTATION

Our colleagues in the Beale's Best network have consulted for and collaborated  closely with leading implant manufacturers to develop many of the most commonly-used implants in Veterinary Orthopedics.
